Watershed Woodfire Workshop with Tara Wilson. Fall 2011

 These first two images are from my back yard raku experiments this summer.

 Last Friday Sept 30 was loading day at Watershed. The workshop was led by Tara Wilson a visiting studio potter who lives in Montana. Check out her work here...tarawilsonpottery.com.

The sun held out making for a nice relaxed day.

Tara loaded the kiln very thoughtfully and made a tall first shelf stack to encourage the flame to run equally top and bottom of the kiln where otherwise it would tend more to follow the ceiling of the kiln.

So we lit the thing up and fired it for about 45 hours before clamping it up and leaving it to cool Sunday afternoon. I will try to get some more photos of the participants soon.

Summed up to a pretty successful woodfire. Back to work!
